Side by Side ATV reviews can assist you in finding the right brand for the work or fun you expect to get out of a terrain vehicle. Side by sides (SxS) are also known as UTVs or utility terrain vehicles. These multi-seated vehicles cross a sport quad with utility quad. They are great for hauling cargo or people and the uses are only limited by your needs.
If you will be running trails for hunting or sport, or just driving the UTV on level, ground, clearance can be an important issue. Some trails have ruts, tree stumps, and rocks that demand a higher clearance. Generally, most SxS vehicles are low to the ground but can acquire extra inches by choosing larger tires and adding a lift kit. One review mentions aftermarket air shocks could easily provide adjustable clearance but would need testing over different terrains.
Increasing the clearance will change the center of gravity (CG) on these units. Manufacturers have used different designs to keep the CG low. By using alternate engine mount locations, and having lower seat height and clearance, a safer machine is provided. Caution is implied if making any alterations to the vehicle height as this will change the CG and possibly the safety of the machine.
Understanding the difference between locking and unlocking differentials will assure you have the right application for the way you will be utilizing this UTV. Having a locking differential brings power to all wheels, so if the machine is unbalanced leaving a wheel free, power continues to all other wheels and traction can keep you rolling. This is great for rough, uneven ground. However, if you need quick and tight turning capabilities you want the rear end unlocked. If it is locked you will be pushed forward into and through a curve not around it.
Machine and load weight will have an affect power. So, by having the right sized engine for your needs you will not be left with inadequate power for the job. Three areas will have to be examined to determine weight. The weight of the machine can vary tremendously from model to model. The number of people or the amount of cargo the UTV is expected to transport can greatly diminish power capabilities. Lastly, after-market accessories can really add to the vehicle weight. Just keep these variables in mind and plan for the maximum load.
Speed versus need will dictate how fast your machine needs to be. SxSs speed capabilities range from a moderate 25mph/40.2kph to a racing capable 70mph/112.7kph. If the machine is to be used for hauling or towing, speed is less relevant than power. Engine size, and whether the unit is a two or four-wheel drive, should be the focus for this type of use.
Know how you will be hauling this vehicle around. If you are using it at one site it is of little consideration. However, if you are hauling an ATV to the mountains, or dunes each weekend, you will have to figure in the base length and weight to make sure you have the right accommodations to transport the vehicle. Wheelbase dimensions are pretty even across brands but overall length and width differ greatly.
Any experience you can gain by using these UTVs prior to purchase will be a benefit to choosing the right model for your need. Once need is known, Side by Side ATV reviews can provide the specifications and comparisons for you to make your choice. Online research for SxS can make the final choice easier.

Half helmet or full face helmet - which one is best? The truth is that each helmet has has positives and negatives, and no matter which one you ultimately decide upon purchasing, just making sure that you strap on a helmet every time you're riding your scooter, motorcycle or ATV is the single best decision you can make.
Comfort
Comfort really depends upon the personality of the rider. If you do a lot of high-speed, long distance travel, then getting a full face helmet would be my recommendation. When I was riding, I had a Bell Star that provided a quiet and comfortable ride on the highway. And, having a rather loud motorcycle, I appreciated the quietness. But, for shorter, around-town rides, I would have liked to have had a half helmet, because my helmet could be kind of heavy and constraining.
Plus, on hot days, even though I could flip up the visor, the smaller, cooler helmet would have been great to have. While riding on cool days, or in the rain, I was always glad to have the full face helmet, because my head was always warm and dry. For comfort, the decision really depends on your personal choice.
Style
What kind of bike do you ride? If you have a chopper or a bobber, wouldn't you look kind of silly wearing a full face helmet? Purely from a styling perspective, the half helmets really look good on the custom, lowered and chopped bikes. On the other hand, if you ride a crotch rocket, then a full face helmet is practically mandatory. I just couldn't imagine any other helmet being used with a race bike. If you ride a scooter, then who cares? I think this is a matter of personal tastes, although I've seen a lot of scooter riders wearing half helmets as they putt around town.
Safety
I don't think this one requires much imagination - a full face helmet, that envelopes your head, face and chin is definitely the way to go if you want the ultimate in protection. For example, these types of helmets are used in practically any type of racing - street, motorcross or road racing. In these circumstances, I would definitely want everything I owned protected in a crash at 120 miles per hour.
Which helmet is best? Only you can answer this question - half helmet or full face helmet.

An off-road golf cart is a lot of fun driving through the woods or on rough terrain, but building your own cart is an even more satisfying experience because you did it yourself and saved a lot of money. It's easy to modify a golf cart for this kind purpose. It's best to start with a reliable well-maintained used golf cart. The parts and supplies needed can be found in specialty stores and even cheaper on the Internet.
There are many accessories that you can add to your cart. Here is a list of modifications to get you started:
Lift Kits: Lift kits are suspension parts that lift the body of your golf cart to go over off-road terrain. These kits are necessary not only for raising the height of the golf cart but they add a stronger suspension to the vehicle. Driving off-road exposes you to a variety of ditches and terrain that a lower profile cart would get hung up on. Without these kits you could injure yourself or damage the cart. There are many different kinds of lift kits. They come in 3 inch, 6 inch and higher. The lift kit prices range from 0 to 0 depending on lift height and suspension complexity.
Steering Wheels: Steering wheels though not a necessity add to a better driving experience. An attractive steering wheel not only adds to the appearance of your vehicle, but they provide a better grip and less fatigue on your hands and wrists. Your steering wheel should be 13 inches in diameter. You have many choices in style of steering wheel like wood grain, formula car, European, and neoprene. Expect to pay for the neoprene to 0 for the Formula Gt steering wheel.
Golf Cart Windshields: Most stock golf carts do not come with a windshield. But you're going to need one for going off-road. You will encounter mud and dirt as you drive, not to mention the occasional branch. If you're not sure about the need for a windshield get one that folds down so you have an option to use it or not. Windshield prices run from 0 to 0 depending if they fold down, style of frame, and thickness of the acrylic.
ATV Tires: Of course you can't use stock golf cart tires, you have to upgrade them to All Terrain Vehicle tires. You need them for their durability on rough terrain and to give you maximum grip on muddy ground. When purchasing tires you will have a vast selection of rim and tire combinations. It's best to skip the low profile tires and get a tire with good traction and tread. The 23x10.5-12 All Trail Tire with the alloy rims is the way to go for great traction and style in all types of terrain. Tire and rim combinations can run you between and 0. This is the most important part of your off-roading upgrades, don't skimp in this department.
This is all you need to build a first class machine. But if you want an even more tricked out machine you can add light packages, dashboard kits, fender flares, cargo boxes, and hunting accessories.
Get ready to have some enjoyable times out in the country with your new Off-Road Cart. It's a great inexpensive alternative to purchasing a new ATV.

When you're buying an ATV for youths, there are many more things to be taken into consideration, unlike purchasing an ATV for an adult. Youths should not ride on a grown-up ATV! It used to be a tad difficult to buy ATV for youths but many ATV manufacturers have now come up with ATV models with engine specs and features that are suitable for youths.
Before buying an ATV for a youth, take the following into consideration:-
o Safety Features - Youths do not have the same kind of flexibility, strength, maturity, endurance, skill and quick reaction as most adults do. And when you team that up with a powerful ATV, it's like asking for trouble. On top of the list of priorities is ATV safety features. The more safety features there are on the Youth ATV, the better the ATV is...but of course, the more safety features there are, the more comfortable you as the parent becomes. Youth ATV's are a growth industry so be safe and have fun!
o Engine - If you're not sure if the ATV is suitable for a youth, you should first make enquiries with the youth atv sales person. Most sales persons would willingly help explain the engine specs to you and assist in your bid to purchase an ATV for a youth but if you can't find anyone to answer your questions, mark down the model of the youth ATV and then ask around in online forums and message boards such as http://www.atvoutdoors.net and others out in atv land. Most ATV enthusiasts are helpful in answering your questions.
o Reliability - Reliability of a Youth ATV depends very much on the reliability and professionalism of the vendor or retailer. The better the reputation, the higher your chances of purchasing an ATV that is suitable for a youth.
o Replacement parts for the youth ATV - Youth ATVs will need to be maintained, repaired or modified from time to time. Just like we need to visit the dentist once in a while, the youth ATV parts may need replacements too in the future. So, make sure you get an ATV with easy-to-find ATV parts and a distributor that answers the phone.
o And there's just one more thing to do before you make your final decision on which youth ATV to buy and that is to make sure that you compare prices among youth ATV retailers as much and many as you can before making up your mind.
Happy ATV hunting!

These vehicles are all terrain vehicles, which imply that they are designed for off road use. Usually made for a single rider and one passenger they come in a range of sizes and engines and there is a large range of models available and are predominately Japanese.
ATV powersport bikes are either four wheeled or six wheeled with engines ranging from 49cc to 950cc and their design makes them perfect for off roading in mud or sand dunes. When you become experienced in the world of power sports, you just have to strap on your helmet and get ready to perform racing and stunts like you have never experienced before on any other vehicle, and to help you make the most of the sport there are a host of clubs and associations that you can join which will allow you to learn how to ride in safety with other like minded riders.
There are many brands and types of ATV powersports vehicles for you to choose your vehicle from and internet is a wonderful source for you to refer to for ideas and suggestions for purchasing your dream bike. Although branded vehicles are usually more expensive than the off brand varieties, however if you can stretch your budget an investment in one of the recognized makes is preferable. You must also take into account your experience whilst looking to buy as the bigger ATV's are extremely powerful. So bare in mind the physical size of the machine as well as the engine power; in fact it is a good idea to go to a dealer and sit on the bike and try it for reach and handling.
The term Power sports encompasses a huge range of different types of vehicles and other than ATV's there are Snowmobiles, Dune Buggies, Karts and Dirt Bikes plus many more, and there loads of eBay sites selling them, however if you intend to buy your ATV through eBay, and it is a pre owned model, make sure you can ask the seller questions about the age and condition of the vehicle. Most people don't just rush into purchasing a brand new ATV; but that's not a major problem as there is an abundance of pre-owned machines on the market.
There are of course many websites that offer information and tips about the sale and purchase of ATV's and power sports vehicles. Use your instincts and try to go with a brand that you know of or know someone who owns one like it. In addition to this, buying your ATV from a reputed and trusted source ensures that you will receive after sales support from the dealer. Servicing is a major requirement of the manufacturers guarantee so make sure there are facilities locally to carry out this work.
The other thing to remember is to make sure you have enough money in your budget to buy the correct safety gear, such as a good helmet a pair of leathers and boots, and last but not least check out the insurance requirements as powersports can be dangerous if they are not approached with extreme caution. So there you have it; if you can tick all of these boxes your entry into ATV Powersports should be a safe and exhilarating one.
