Discount Motorcycle Gear - What You Must Know Before You Buy Online

Buyers flock towards online shopping in ever increasing numbers as it offers better prices, wider choice and the convenience of shopping from home. Motorcyclists are no different, as more and more of them are buying helmets, jackets, pants and boots from online retailers. The one advantage the traditional bricks-and-mortar store has over the online retailer is sales staff that can provide answers to questions the buyer may have on the spot. Buying something at a great price is of little or no value if the item does not meet the buyers expectations. So how does the motorcyclist and online buyer establish what is the best motorcycle gear for them?

The first part of the purchase exercise is defining their requirements. The buyer needs to be reasonably clear in their own mind of the following three points.

Atv

1. Budget. If buying a number of items have a realistic idea as to how much is to be allocated to each item.

Discount Motorcycle Gear - What You Must Know Before You Buy Online

2. The style of riding they are primarily going to be doing. The three basic styles are touring, sports/track and off-road/ATV. Each riding style requires gear that has different levels of protection for the rider. Touring is more about adequate protection and comfort, while sports/track is high levels of protection.

3. The climate and range of weather conditions they are likely to be riding in.

Having established these basic parameters, the next step is to look at some online retailers to see the range of motorcycle gear that fits in with the three requirements above. This should provide a short-list of items that will more than likely meet the individual motorcyclists need. All reputable online motorcycle gear sellers will have their site structured in such a way so that a new buyer can easily find gear in a price range, riding style and what season the gear would be best suited to.

Following on from this part of the exercise is to do some basic independent research. Start with on-line research by typing into a search engine a phrase structured along the lines of "brand name/model code review(s)". For example, if the buyer was researching dual purpose motorcycle helmets the following could be entered into the search engine - "Shoei DS Hornet review". This will bring up a list of sites that have reviewed this product, and the buyer can get some knowledge of the fit, comfort, durability and value for money. One good location for getting actual buyer feedback is Amazon.com. There is nothing like real buyers giving their opinions and experiences on a product. Amazon sells just about everything, and they do offer a fairly wide range of discount motorcycle gear for sale, and their customers are encouraged to leave feedback on their purchase. Amazon now flag a review as a 'Amazon Verified Purchase', so the buyer can be sure this person actually owns the product. Also, great information can be found on motorcycle forums and membership sites. Like all things based on experiences and opinions, don't take one review as pure truth. Look at the overall sentiment from a number of different reviews. Any one review is somewhat meaningless, but a trend in reviews is very meaningful.

Research also provides an insight into new technologies that are being incorporated into motorcycle gear to make it lighter, stronger and safer. For example, motorcycle jackets and pants are now incorporating viscoelastic materials that remain soft and pliable during normal use, but change at the molecular level on impact to a tough, impermeable layer of protection.

Once the buyer has got the shopping list sorted out, the next thing to do is to find an online seller that offers superior customer service. The things that a buyer must check out are:

1. Price and price guarantees. A number of reputable online sellers will not only offer lower prices, but will also offer to match a genuine price from another seller.

2. Returns policy. One of the big issues with buying personal motorcycle apparel or gear is what to do if it doesn't fit. It is most important that the seller has a 'no hassles' return policy. Also, check there are no hidden fees such as 'restocking fees'.

3. Shipping. Normally items over a certain amount will be shipped free of charge in the same country. It is unlikely to get free shipping on an international order, so make sure the savings in the catalog aren't swallowed up in exorbitant shipping charges.

4. Customer Contact. What sort of customer service do they offer? Is there a generic email or does the buyer get to speak to a real human being if there is an issue with the order or the product.

Of course there are no guarantees, but if the buyer follows this straightforward process they will come away with a set of motorcycle gear that is fit for purpose and also at a great price. Well made gear allows the rider to get the most out of riding a motorcycle so the experience is both an enjoyable one and a safe one. That's why it is worthwhile taking the time to research both the product and the seller.

Mexico Vacation Destinations

Good Lord... there aren't just a few, but a ton of amazing adventures to explore in Mexico vacation destinations!

I'll share just a few from my tickle-trunk that have positively impacted my view of life in Mexico, still today, in limitless ways.

Atv

• Before the internet, there was People Magazine!

Mexico Vacation Destinations

Many of you reading this right now are thinking, "Before the internet"? That's right. Even though the passion of what I do remains very alive today, still feels like I just started a few months ago, even though my beginning was 20+ years ago.

So while in my favorite Mexico vacation destinations (namely Puerto Vallarta), on my days off, the biggest thing for me was finding the most recent edition of People Magazine (my life line to the world!) and a heavenly, world famous, signature brownie called a Beso from an American-owned bakery called Pie-in-the-Sky... YUM! No seriously... Mmmmmm! When next in Vallarta, get one!

I'd pack my day-off bag with Beso & People in hand and spend the day on the Vallarta Adventure, on the water!

• SCUBA Diving

Without a doubt, the most terrifying, invigorating, jaw-dropping, striking, incredibly beautiful, and inspiring activity I've had the pleasure of experiencing! Any Mexico vacation destination will do to jump into this activity.

I didn't know a thing about SCUBA when I moved to Vallarta. And as much as I adored no other place than being on the ocean... being IN it terrified the crap out of me! There was "no way I'm going in there"!

Thankfully, I had Ramon as the best most patient instructor in the world. Ramon always had to go in first... I mean come on, I'm no fool... if Jaws is lurking nearby, Ramon should satisfy its appetite and forget about me, right?

I've kissed sea lions & dolphins, been face to face with whale sharks, giant mantas, barracudas, bull & nurse sharks, fed stingrays, and myriad of underwater creatures large and small all over Mexico and the Caribbean. Spectacular! Put it on your Bucket List!

• On the Sea

Being on the sea in any of Mexico's vacation destinations will do. But when I first moved to Vallarta there were no commercial charters going to the islands off the north tip of Banderas Bay, Islas Marietas. So any chance I got to hop on a private sailboat or catamaran going out to the islands, I was all in. It was a long day - 2 to 3 hours one way, plus island exploration or beach time, snorkeling and /or scuba, lunch, then back again.

That's why I was thrilled when a new company called Vallarta Adventures started up. I would do the occasional boat trip to the south end, Yelapa or Quimixto, but the islands take my breath away! Explored by the great Jaques Cousteau, the Marietas are protected and home to blue & yellow footed boobies (it's a bird!)

Capy (our nickname for the Captain) always gave me the best seat in the house for the ride over to the islands. An adventure in itself to see breaching orcas & humpbacks, giant mantas doing back flips, dolphins racing with the catamaran... awesome! So because I already new the islands, it became an easy sell as a Destination Rep. I was Vallarta Adventures TOP salesperson for the first couple of seasons.

• ATV Tour

What a blast! I've done ATV tours in just about every Mexico destination/island I've been. If I'm not SCUBA diving, I'm ATVing and vice versa.

By far, my favorite destination for this is Huatulco, Mexico! Starting off in a remote area, you're ATVing through the thick jungle dodging branches, sharp corners, up and down hills, using the vehicle what it was designed for... all terrain! On the other side of the jungle, we end up on a gorgeous pristine secluded beach where we can open it up. There's only one restaurant here and the catch-of-the-day lovingly prepared by the locals, served with the coldest Coronas, of course! We have time to enjoy the beach, some swimming, tanning or just chillin' out... then back again through the jungle to where we started. Unrecognizable from the thick layer of dust & dirt, guests totally get their moneys worth and Destination Reps get to unwind and break from regular duties. Exhilarating!

• Hanging with the locals

I've given Welcome Briefings to thousands of people and one thing I've encouraged was to not buy 'stuff' from kids selling on the street'. Here's why. With almost 15yrs in destination, I learned a thing or two about what goes on behind-the-scenes. The kids are wonderful! I love 'em! Most of them are sponges for learning, speak better English than your hotel operator, and love tourists.

Here's the truth... these beautiful kids are on the street because they can't afford to be in school. They're poor, yes. They're put on the street by a parent or so-called guardian to sell for them. The monies go into the guardians' pocket. The kids still may or may not eat that day or have someplace to sleep that night. They may be the victims of countless acts of violence & neglect. But because they're kids, they come out shining every day to start again. We do them a huge disservice when we enable this life for them by buying their flowers, bracelets or whatever the sell-of-the-day is.

Instead, I volunteer - at local orphanages, or took kids into my home to eat, play, do arts & crafts, color & draw or paint... provided a place and activities for them to be kids!

My passengers helped by donating clothes, shampoos, leftover pesos.

The hotels I serviced donated old blankets/towels/sheets, unclaimed lost & found items.

Today, foreigners like myself who've made Vallarta home, have positively impacted the lives of countless children and street animals, given them a whole new lease on life, transformed living conditions, and made adoption possible for so many. Amazing!!

• Exploring

Isn't this why we travel in the first place?!

Personally, I LOVE to just rent a jeep, grab a map, and head for the hills! This becomes a real bonus when working in destination. You can certainly do this while working on ship, when time off allows, but scheduling can be tricky depending on the position you're in. Nonetheless, get out when you can.

Working in a Mexico vacation destination allows you to take a whole day off, get an early start, map out a target, and get back with plenty of time for your next shift.

From Vallarta, I've ventured up the north coast to Guayabitos or Aticama, inland to Guadalajara, or down the south coast to Manzanillo.

From Cancun, you can jeep over to the ruins of Chichen Itza, or to the Mayan Riviera to spend the day in Playa Del Carmen or take the 45min ferry over to the island of Cozumel.

If you're on ship, you can get around most of the islands in a day as well.

From St. Maarten, you're a hop-skip-jump to a day in Anguilla, St. Barths, Saba, or St. Eustatius. From St. Thomas, you're a Tarzan call away from St. Croix.

While most will stay within the safe harbor of a guided tour or close to the port, few will truly pick up the dirt and seek new adventures... even if just for a day!

Final thoughts for this chapter...

Between contracts and off season, there's a world out there waiting for you to explore! It beckons you to above and below the sea. Places like Machu Picchu, the Great Wall, Ireland's castles & Blarney Stone, Egypt's pyramids, or Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

There's no shortage of things to do. With some imagination and creativity, you can make anything possible. As you can see, there's a lot more than meets the eye. I know tons of people who have been traveling worldwide and supporting their world travels with their seasonal work on ship or in destination.

If that's not your ballgame, if you don't know what you're ready for... at least get the game started and see where the ball lands.

Improve Your Yard and Garden With an ATV Plow

Like many parents, I've always had trouble getting my adolescent son to do work around the house. I'm really big on my yard and all the outdoor work that comes with it. I do a lot of gardening, a lot of shoveling, and even more trimming and loading. For years, it was nearly impossible to get my son to help with any of this, and I finally stopped asking for any assistance at all.

A couple years ago, the family up and moved to Colorado. And not just any part of Colorado ... the Rocky Mountains. We found a nice house with a great yard in a small community called Evergreen, about 25 miles west of Denver in the foothills of the Rockies. To our surprise, the house came with a little bonus: A big wooden shed on the property containing an old ATV and a bunch of accessories to go along with it.

Atv

After arriving in late November, we found ourselves settled right in time for the winter's first big snowstorm. And boy, did it ever come down. After three days of constant blizzard conditions and over five total feet of snow, we found ourselves trapped behind 200 yards of snow-packed driveway. The thought of attempting to shovel that huge area was overwhelming, until I recalled seeing a snow plow fitting for the old ATV in the shed. Hoping this might do the trick, I tracked out to the shed to see if I could put it together.

Improve Your Yard and Garden With an ATV Plow

With a couple calls to the manufacturer of the ATV (Kawasaki), and the manufacturer of the snow plow (WARN), I was set up and ready to go. Curiously, I only made it to the edge of the garage before my teenage son was running at me with wide eyes and a never-before-seen look of interest in household chores. Amazingly, the kid begged me to shovel the driveway, a task he had always faked a cold to get out of.

In just two hours, the ATV had plowed the entire 200 yards of driveway, and my son ran in as excited as if he had just spent the time on his snowboard. For the remainder of the winter season, his eyes lit up each and every time the snow fell, and we never spent more than a couple hours snowed in. During those great hours, my wife and I would simply warm up a pot of hot cocoa and watch the amazing transformation taking place from the warmth of the house.

When spring came around and it was time to get started on my tree trimming and garden duties, I found a similar interest in these outdoor chores. I would trim the branches, and my son would load them into the ATV plow and transport them to the edge of the property. He then spent a week straight digging up dirt and proportioning areas of land for my grand gardening plans. In a fraction of the time it had taken in previous years, I had a great garden, thanks mostly to the help of my son and his new favorite toy.

In the past two years, I haven't shoveled a bit of snow in the winter. For the past two summers, I haven't put a bit of work into my garden. Yet I still have the best looking yard and garden on the block, and my son did it all with an old ATV and utility plow. And anytime the neighbors come to ask me how I got my son to be so helpful around the yard, I simply point at that old ATV and say "Get one of those and you'll see for yourself."

GPS Navigation - Finding Your Way Through the Product Maze

The range of options and variety of brands and models can make choosing a GPS system a little confusing. Price is an obvious consideration but so are the built in features and available options, how and where you intend to use your GPS and what kind of directional assistance would be most helpful for your particular needs. When deciding which GPS product is right for you, considering the answers to some of the following questions will help you navigate through the maze of available products and find the right one for your needs.

- Are you looking for basic GPS navigation for you car to help get you around town or something with a few more features that would be helpful on trips?

Atv

- Are you looking for a GPS system with more versatility? Perhaps a unit that could be used in a car and/or outdoors hiking, biking or sightseeing?

GPS Navigation - Finding Your Way Through the Product Maze

- Are you looking for a feature packed system that provides spoken navigation and a variety of additional information, traffic and weather, compatibility with Bluetooth devices XM radio and more?

- Are you looking for activity specific GPS capabilities for use during hunting, fishing/marine use, or fitness training?

The following information is offered as a guide to assist you in determining which product is right for you. It is not a review of any specific brand or model. The brands mentioned are only used as examples of the kind of GPS being discussed. Keep in mind as you consider your needs that many GPS systems designed for use in a car can easily be carried in a pocket, purse or pack and used to navigate on foot. And likewise, many handheld products can be mounted in a car, boat, ATV or on a bicycle and when installed with street map software, can be used to navigate on streets and highways.

GPS products with basic capabilities will be able, literally, to get you from point A to point B by utilizing one or more saved "Way points". These type devices do not offer mapping capability. You can think of way points as pebbles left behind you as you make your way. To return, you move back along your route, collecting the pebbles you left to mark the way. Basic models function in much this way, dropping the "pebbles" for you and pointing the way back to them to lead you home. Examples for use of this type GPS might be saving the location of your parked car at a crowded shopping mall or sports facility when you arrive so you could easily find your way back when you are ready to leave. Or instead of a parked car you might save the location of your campsite and points of interest along a hike and then easily navigate back at the end of the day. Examples of these types of handheld GPS units would include:

- Bushnell's Backtracker Personal Location Finder

- Garmin eTrex H

- Garmin Foretrex 101 and 201

- Geko 201

- Garmin GPS 60, 72, and 76

Basic automobile GPS navigation requires a bit more sophistication than seen in the previously mentioned handhelds. These products offer pre-loaded maps, color screens, and greater memory capacity and are the types of products you would want to consider for use in a vehicle or for back country hiking, hunting or fishing. Beginning level examples of these products would be:

- Garmin Nuvi 200, 205, 205W

- Magellan Roadmate 1200, 1400,

- Magellan Maestro 3200 series

Moving up a notch consider products like the following handheld units for outdoor activities :

- Garmin eTrex Legend, Venture HC, Vista,

- Garmin GPSMAP 60

- Magellan Triton 200

Moving up to the mid-level you may want to consider products like these for your car:

- Garmin Nuvi 250, 255, 260, 265, 270 series

- Magellan 1412

- Navigon 2000S

And for outdoor handhelds:

- Garmin eTrex Summit HC, Vista HCx, GPSMAP 76S

- Bushnell ONIX200

- Magellan Triton 300

- DeLorme PN-20

Moving up to more advanced products does not mean struggling with products that are difficult to use. Features such as touch screens and spoken turn by turn directions make these automobile GPS products very easy to use. Advanced products provide a greater number of features and a higher level of functionality and versatility. Options such as XM radio, Traffic updates, or other services are included or can be added with some of the more advanced models. Some of these options require the purchase of monthly subscriptions. Examples of these products for your vehicle would be:

- Garmin Nuvi 265WT, 275T, 500, 550, 750, 755T, 760, 765T, 775T, 780, 785T, 855

885T, 5000

- Garmin Zumo 550

- Garmin Streetpilot 7200

- Magellan Maestro series

- Navigon 2200T, 2100MAX, 7200T, 8100T

Advanced handheld GPS models generally offer more internal memory or the ability to add mapping and other content using data storage cards. Mapping data can be downloaded to the card and the card plugged into the device. In this way one device can be used to navigate city streets, inland lakes or coastal areas, or trails in a national park depending on the mapping software installed. These types of handhelds include:

- Garmin Oregon and Colorado series

- Garmin GPSMAP 60Cx, 60CSx, 76Cx, 76 CSx

- Magellan Triton 1500, 2000

- Bushnell ONIX350, ONIX400

- DeLorme PN-40

There is a group of advanced products which should be mentioned separately because they not only offer excellent automobile navigation features but can be used for marine GPS navigation on the water or on a trail as well. These GPS models are referred to as crossover or hybrid GPS units and include the following examples:

- Garmin Nuvi 500, 550

- Garmin GPSMAP 276C, 478C, 620, 640

- Lowrance XOG

Another group of handheld GPS is designed with a specific use or feature in mind. Some specialized handheld models provide basic GPS navigation but are also coupled with enhanced specialized functionality. Others do not offer GPS navigation but use GPS technology to gather data used in activities such as fitness or sports training. Examples include:

- Garmin Astro - Handheld GPS that can also be used to track hunting dogs.

- Garmin Rino - Handheld GPS with 2-way radio capability.

- Timex Ironman - GPS worn on the wrist. Tracks such things as time and distance for running, biking, and swimming fitness training.

- Garmin Edge, Forerunner, and Foretrex - Edge is a Personal Training/Biking calculator using GPS for fitness training. Forerunner and Foretrex are other examples of wrist mounted GPS, Forerunner for fitness training and Foretrex offering basic way point GPS navigation.

This has not been an all encompassing discussion of GPS products but I hope this information will help you understand the differences between some of the more popular models when choosing which is the right GPS for you.

Compare ATV Insurance - How to Find the Best Policy

The Consumer
Having spoken to many different users of Quad Bikes and ATVs, it was plain to see that most of them had the same question to ask; how do we know that we have the right policy?

In this day and age, it is not difficult to spot so I won't try and teach granny to suck eggs and give you a brief outline what to look for and how to make sure that you are getting like for like without digging through each schedule to find the right one.

Atv

The Broker
One of the main problems when talking to an insurance company is this; "Don't tell them what they don't need to know!"
By this I am not saying hold back relevant information, in fact that is the last thing you should do when looking for an Insurance quote for any vehicle. What I mean is that Insurance agents do have a clever way of getting information from you so that they can make more money, by simply asking what the renewal is on your existing policy and then going silent.

Compare ATV Insurance - How to Find the Best Policy

The Sales Pitch
The longer they stay silent, the harder it is for you not to tell them so make sure you have a sensible answer for them when they ask the question. The other one is if you have just purchased a Quad Bike or ATV or you are looking at buying one, they ask if you have had any quotes before contacting them.

Again, the simple answer is to say "YES" and then if they ask for the price, you just casually slide back the answer that you never gave them any help, so will not do so with them also. The second point is to make sure you give the same information that you gave the other companies, including the excess payment on the policy. This will then make sure you have a close like for like comparison when looking at one against the other.

Increasing the Value
Lastly, never increase the value of the machine over and above the market value as this will end up costing you more on your premium and, should you need to make a claim, they will only pay you the market price at the time of the claim. An example of this is some companies will increase the premium by more than 25GBP per thousand value, and other increase by the same for every 500GBP.

The Right Security
Always ask the question when talking to a broker online - "Do I need any special security adaptations whilst the vehicle is parked or stored on my premises?" It has been known that insurance brokers have excluded this out of the conversation to keep the policy price down. Then, all of a sudden you find that once the schedule arrives it states you need two types of locking mechanism for your bike - one is an insurance approved locking system, and the other is a mounting system bolted to either a wall or concrete floor.

Once you get the price for these, you would understand why they were cheaper. The approved padlocking system can cost between £50 - £150 and the mounting system can cost about the same. A simple but effective quality lock will suffice when in your garage or shed - you just need to make sure that they can not remove it quietly or easily!

Is there a service to give you all of this under one roof?

Bike insurance is something that really saves you from a lot of problems. On the outset it may seem that bike insurance is very costly and perhaps not the best price for the premium that you have to pay out every year. However, there is whole lot of versatile insurance policies that help you find the right kind of insurance that you need for your motorbike. When it comes to Suzuki bikes, the choice is even easier since the insurance policy is tailor made for different bike models that Suzuki has to offer.

Nowadays you can get really different kinds of insurance policies online and otherwise as well. As far as Suzuki motorbikes are concerned there are really a number of policies made for each model. There are different models of the bikes that cater to different needs for example some bike models are created for traditional usage while some are luxury or sports bike models. Of course, the insurance scheme differs for both kinds of models.

Atv

You can buy different kinds of insurance deals at different prices and varying discounts. For example, many online portals offer discounts that vary between 10 to 15 percent. You can also get long term no claim bonuses. As result you can choose the appropriate insurance policy for your bike from the many online portals on the web. These online portals are really common to Suzuki bike insurance these days.

You can even make additions to your insurance policy as per your needs and budget. Modifications can of course lead to increased costs and you can personalise the policy as per your own needs and requirements. ATV Exhaust and Preventing Wildfires

It is paramount to have a good exhaust system on an ATV to maintain performance and then you must also consider where you will be riding too. If you find yourself in tall tried grass or occasionally disintegrating a tumble weed who makes the misfortunate move to get in your way then you need to consider the fire hazards caused by your exhaust. The harder you ride the hotter your ATV gets and the more potential for a spark or high heat causing a piece of dried brush to light fire.

The trick is to stay on the trail as best you can although sometimes that is not possible completely, after all there will always be the slower rider in front of you on an advanced trail who is totally afraid of the terrain and you must pass. Maybe they should be afraid of the terrain riding like that you think to yourself.

Atv

So which mufflers provide the best chance to prevent fires? Well, most high performance pipes are much safer than you might think. The stock pipes are probably the safest for sparks because the manufacturers are afraid to get sued. But if you have a high performance muffler such as DG, FMF, HMF or other high tech model should be fine too. So consider all this in 2006.

Is Growing Saint George, Utah The New Palm Springs?

Just under two hours drive from Las Vegas, Nevada is another fast growing community. Saint George has an elevation of 2,880 feet above sea level. St. George has an average annual temperature of 59.9° F with summer temperatures well into the 100s. Palm trees and red rock cliffs are the norm in Saint George along with all the convenience of a city of 100 thousand.

Saint George is home to Red Cliffs Desert Preserve a 62,000-acre scenic wildlife reserve set aside to protect the desert tortoise and other rare and sensitive plants and animals Here is where three great ecosystems merge, the Mojave Desert, the Great Basin, and the Colorado Plateau, Red Cliffs Reserve is biologically rich with an array of animals and plants rarely seen in one place. It contains the most northern populations of the desert tortoise, Gila monster, sidewinder rattlesnake, and chuckwalla - reptiles typically associated with hotter and more southerly deserts, like the Mojave.

Atv

Saint George is very close to Zion National Park. Biking at Gooseberry Mesa, ATV's at Coral Pink Sand Dunes are close too, with Dixie National Forest, Snow Canyon, and Joshua tree forest, all in the area. Southern Utah and all it has to offer can be reached from here. If you love golf, you'll find it here as well as shopping!

Is Growing Saint George, Utah The New Palm Springs?

Saint George, Utah is located in Washington County. There is lots of controversy about the proposed public lands legislation in the United States Senate. The bill titled S.3636 considers a land swap of up to 24,000 acres. This wilderness area is part of the zionmojave outdoors.

This draft bill would designate more than 219,000 acres as wilderness, preserve utility corridors, create an off-road trail system, develop a new conservation area, protect 170 miles of the Virgin River, and sell to the highest bidder up to 25,000 acres of public land at fair market value. As with any change, many people are concerned about the wording of the bill and the future rights for people to use the outdoor lands that they have had access to for years. Saint George has been growing, fast for the past few years and there is a concern about the developers who would buy the land up for bid. Controlling urban sprawl in this area is a concern to many. So much of Southern Utah is an adventure outdoor wilderness area, not many people want to see changes take place that would restrict their access.

The bill also creates utility corridors and Southern Utah is awaiting the Lake Powell Pipeline. The pipeline legislation was signed into law in May of 2006. In order to meet the water demands of an ever-growing population in Southern Utah, Washington, Kane and Iron counties are pursuing a pipeline that would run from Lake Powell to Sand Hollow Reservoir. These 158 miles of pipeline would bring 70,000 acre feet of water to Washington County, 10,000 acre feet to Kane County and 20,000 acre feet to Iron County. The pipeline would most likely cost 4 million or more in current dollars.

The Lake Powell Pipeline would allow Utah to tap into its unused portion of the Upper Colorado River water, which was defined in the 1922 Colorado River Compact. The Compact divides the river basin into two areas: the Upper Colorado (comprising Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming) and the Lower Basin (comprising Nevada, Arizona and California). Currently Utah is using 74 percent of its annual allocation of 1,369,000 acre feet.

There's a lot going on here, and you'll enjoy your Saint George tours.

Taking A Look At Used Motorcycles For Sale

If you are thinking about purchasing a used motorcycle, there are a few things that you may need to consider. First, it is a good idea to see the motorcycle, and find out as much about its history as you can. It is also important to make sure that you are buying one that has everything you need. When looking at used motorcycles for sale, you may be able to make a more confident purchase if you do the proper research.

It is highly recommended that you take the time to visually inspect the bike. If you are not quite confident about your knowledge of motorcycles, you can always ask a friend to come along. It may also be helpful to research the motorcycle, to see if there are any known issues with that particular make and model.

Atv

Contact the seller to set an appointment to see the bike, and ask that the bike not be warmed up upon arrival. You can tell a lot about the motorcycle, just by cold starting it. When you start the motorcycle you may want to pay attention to the way the starter and engine respond, and make sure that all of the lights, signals, and electrical work are in good working order.

Taking A Look At Used Motorcycles For Sale

When looking over the bike, try to take note of any deep scratches, dents or areas that may be bent or twisted. Loose bodywork may also be a sign that the bike has been wrecked or mishandled. Another thing to keep in mind is that replacing upholstery or wheels can be expensive; therefore, you may want to take a look at these areas as well.

Asking the seller about how the bike was primarily used would also be a good idea. If it was used mainly for off-road riding, that will give you an indication of additional areas that need to be investigated. For instance, one that is frequently used off-road may need to have its air filter changed more often. The more information you can get about the history of the motorcycle, the easier it will be for you to make an informed decision.

Almost every motorcycle comes with a manual that includes a manufactured recommended service schedule. It is important that you know if the motorcycle has been properly serviced. Ask the seller to provide any records or receipts related to the bike's care.

A lot of sellers will advertise a price, but will accept an offer. Before making one; however, you may want to find out what else comes with the motorcycle. Manuals, tool kits, service schedules, and spare keys are important to have. Once you have come to a decision on a price, be sure to verify that all of the paperwork is valid before signing and paying for the motorcycle.

With so many used motorcycles for sale, it can be difficult to make a decision. If you are not confident about your knowledge of motorcycles, you can always ask the seller if he or she would mind if you have a trusted mechanic look at it for you. If you take the time to inspect the bikes that interest you, and consider the history and condition of each one, it should make the decision process a little easier.

Taking A Look At Used Motorcycles For Sale

If you're looking for atvs for sale or motorcycles for sale, make it part of your purchasing routine to check the blue book value to insure you get the best bang for your buck.

When making plans for our visit, the priority was ensuring we had a view of the Arenal Volcano lava flow from our hotel - so that our nighttime sights would be memorable. Hotels surround the Arenal Volcano but at the time of our visit lava was only flowing down the Southwest side of the mountain. Hotel Linda Vista was our hotel of choice and the views were spectacular ... both during the day and throughout the night.

As spectacular as the daytime views were, the nighttime view of the active Arenal Volcano was truly indescribable. The peak of the volcano glowed with red gases while the lava sparked and streamed as molten magma broke free from crusted flows. Unfortunately my camera could not capture any pictures worth posting due to distance, darkness and lack of light strength coming from the lava. So if you want to see it, you'll have to experience it for yourself :o)

Of all the great physical activities offered in the La Fortuna area, waterfall rappelling sounded like the most fun to both me and my 13 year old daughter. Unfortunately, we found that most activities occur at pre-determined intervals and our timing was not good. Be sure to book your tours in advance if you plan on participating!

However, all was not lost. The La Fortuna Waterfall located just west of the downtown is a 'come-as-you-please' attraction ... and it did not disappoint. After a short walk into the park there is a sturdy raised platform for viewing the waterfall.

Access to the base of the waterfall via an almost vertical trail is not for the faint of heart or those that are not in reasonable shape. Do not attempt the descent if there is any possibility you think the climb back up is beyond your physical capacity ... I witnessed several individuals that struggled immensely to get out of the canyon.

But if you do make the trip down to the waterfall's base, you will not be disappointed:

Selecting the Right ATV Trailer For Hunting Can Save Many Problems Later

When it comes hunting using an ATV trailer or ATV cart to haul large game animals out of the woods, several issues should be considered before making your purchase. A successful hunt will result in a prize trophy or meat for the freezer, but getting the prize out of the field can be a major chore at times.

Blood is very corrosive and will start to rust a metal surface within hours if not washed out quickly. This can be very difficult if you are in the field and not close to a water supply.

Atv

The opposite issue can apply if you have water to travel across, streams, creeks or bogs. Sheet metal ATV trailers do not hold up well in these types of situations for obvious reasons.

Selecting the Right ATV Trailer For Hunting Can Save Many Problems Later

For hunters using an ATV, the best trailer I have found for this use is a heavy-duty poly construction single axle ATV trailer. This type of trailer was designed with hunters in mind for use in rugged conditions and blood or water does not effect the poly bed. The unit is light enough actually float when empty which is great for fording water when necessary.

The poly bed can be put in the dump position and simply sprayed out with a garden hose easily. This will make sure you will not have any problems when your wife wants to use the trailer for hauling her bark mulch and flowers next spring.

The wheel bearings are equipped with grease fittings on the wheel hub, so it is easy to grease them and push water out of the bearings if they have been submerged.

Hunters need a trailer designed for their purpose, so I suggest to visit CountryATV which manufactures a wide selection of ATV and lawn trailers to fit the needs of anyone.

St Lucia Honeymoon Outdoor Activity Ideas

The Lesser Antilles are an outdoor paradise. Here are several activities visitors can do while enjoying a St Lucia honeymoon.

Watersports
There are plenty of sheltered bays and coves along St Lucia's rocky coastline. Many St Lucia weddings take advantage of this landscape.

Atv

Windsurfing, sailing, para-sailing, water skiing are all popular on St Lucia. Yacht charters can be organized out of the Rodney Bay Marina, or Marigot Harbor, as well as deep-sea fishing charters.

St Lucia Honeymoon Outdoor Activity Ideas

Diving
Being part of the Lesser Antilles chain means Saint Lucia faces the Atlantic on its eastern shore, and the sheltered Caribbean on its western shore. These are two very different ecosystems, and this means there is endless choice for divers here. The Keyhole Pinnacles region features four seamounts (underwater mountains), while Superman's Flight is a wall that drops nearly 1700 feet to the bottom. The base of Gros Piton, near Soufriere

Deep Sea Fishing
Head out on the wild Atlantic in search of the some of the biggest fish on the planet. Anglers will land a variety of fish, including mackerel, king mackerel, white marlin, barracuda, kingfish and sailfish.

Yachting
It's possible to charter a yacht from any port on St Lucia. Once again, visitors benefit from the isle's location between the Caribbean and the Atlantic. If you want to plan a romantic cruise in the gentle waters of the Caribbean (Martinique is just a short cruise away), you may wish to depart from Castries. If you want more adventure, the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) passes through the region each November.

Health & Fitness
St Lucia is best known as a romantic and gentle respite from the cares of everyday life. There are many spas that offer treatments, and the volcanic origins of the region means there are plenty of hot springs that rejuvenate the soul and the body.

Soft Adventure
In 2000, St Lucia was awarded an ecotourism award for its Heritage Tourism program. If you don't want to lie on a beautiful white-sand beach all day but would like to stretch your muscles instead, there are many activities to do. Take a rainforest hike in search of the Jacqot, a rare and endangered parrot. ATV rides are also quite popular, as are bicycle tours along the island's many modern roads.

Hiking the many volcanic peaks that loom above the interior is also a top attraction. The Union Nature Trail and Mini Zoo is an easy way to start, and it's possible to progress to the Forestiere Rainforest Trail and the Barre de L'Isle Trail as well. Many of these treks can be completed during the course of an afternoon, leaving plenty of time to return to the beach or the spa to relax.

Buy a Good Brand Name Go Kart With Carter Bros

When it comes to all terrain vehicles go karts have become extremely popular. They are not just for kids anymore as they get bigger and more appealing to adults. Carter Bros has been manufacturing them since 1967 when they produced the very first go kart ever built. Since then they have manufactured over a million of them and still produce them heavily today. They are the largest builder of go carts in the world.

So I don't have to tell you that their reputation precedes them. If you want a high quality product then Carter go karts is where you want to look. Their models keep getting bigger and better. They have locations all over the United States to serve you and be able to buy or service your existing ATV. There is no better company to buy from if you are in the market for one for you or your kids.

Atv

Carter Bros started out building lawnmowers in Alabama and gradually progressed into building high quality go karts. They are not the only dependable manufacturer but they are definitely the oldest and most known. You do not look into buying a go cart without seeing their name somewhere. Most retailers will have a great selection of Carter go carts for you to choose from. They have models such as the tiger or the lightning which are beginner and intermediate buggys that are geared towards children These carts have a governor on them that can be restricted to as slow as you want. They do not typically go faster than 10 mph. Now the Talon is the more adult version and it looks more like a dune buggy. They are geared toward adults and are great for off road carting.
