It is paramount to have a good exhaust system on an ATV to maintain performance and then you must also consider where you will be riding too. If you find yourself in tall tried grass or occasionally disintegrating a tumble weed who makes the misfortunate move to get in your way then you need to consider the fire hazards caused by your exhaust. The harder you ride the hotter your ATV gets and the more potential for a spark or high heat causing a piece of dried brush to light fire.

Maybe they should be afraid of the terrain riding like that you think to yourself.

The stock pipes are probably the safest for sparks because the manufacturers are afraid to get sued. But if you have a high performance muffler such as DG, FMF, HMF or other high tech model should be fine too. So consider all this in 2006.
