St Lucia Honeymoon Outdoor Activity Ideas

The Lesser Antilles are an outdoor paradise. Here are several activities visitors can do while enjoying a St Lucia honeymoon.

Watersports
There are plenty of sheltered bays and coves along St Lucia's rocky coastline. Many St Lucia weddings take advantage of this landscape.

Atv

Windsurfing, sailing, para-sailing, water skiing are all popular on St Lucia. Yacht charters can be organized out of the Rodney Bay Marina, or Marigot Harbor, as well as deep-sea fishing charters.

Diving
Being part of the Lesser Antilles chain means Saint Lucia faces the Atlantic on its eastern shore, and the sheltered Caribbean on its western shore. These are two very different ecosystems, and this means there is endless choice for divers here. The Keyhole Pinnacles region features four seamounts (underwater mountains), while Superman's Flight is a wall that drops nearly 1700 feet to the bottom. The base of Gros Piton, near Soufriere

Deep Sea Fishing
Head out on the wild Atlantic in search of the some of the biggest fish on the planet. Anglers will land a variety of fish, including mackerel, king mackerel, white marlin, barracuda, kingfish and sailfish.

Yachting
It's possible to charter a yacht from any port on St Lucia. Once again, visitors benefit from the isle's location between the Caribbean and the Atlantic. If you want to plan a romantic cruise in the gentle waters of the Caribbean (Martinique is just a short cruise away), you may wish to depart from Castries. If you want more adventure, the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) passes through the region each November.

Health & Fitness
St Lucia is best known as a romantic and gentle respite from the cares of everyday life. There are many spas that offer treatments, and the volcanic origins of the region means there are plenty of hot springs that rejuvenate the soul and the body.

Soft Adventure
In 2000, St Lucia was awarded an ecotourism award for its Heritage Tourism program. If you don't want to lie on a beautiful white-sand beach all day but would like to stretch your muscles instead, there are many activities to do. Take a rainforest hike in search of the Jacqot, a rare and endangered parrot. ATV rides are also quite popular, as are bicycle tours along the island's many modern roads.

Hiking the many volcanic peaks that loom above the interior is also a top attraction. The Union Nature Trail and Mini Zoo is an easy way to start, and it's possible to progress to the Forestiere Rainforest Trail and the Barre de L'Isle Trail as well. Many of these treks can be completed during the course of an afternoon, leaving plenty of time to return to the beach or the spa to relax.
